Solar Panels Installed For The Season

Over the weekend we installed 6 of our flexible solar panels on the fly bridge hard top. That is enough to keep the batteries charged and to work for a good part of the day when we are on anchor without shore power. We use the generator to recharge when the solar panels don’t keep up.

From the solar controller screen shots you can see it is charging on a slightly overcast day at 316W, which is plenty to keep the batteries topped off, but not enough to use without the occasional generator.

The solar is enough however to keep the batteries charged all season while leaving the refrigerator running.
