We have travelled about 157 miles on this trip so far, and it is about another 35 miles to get home tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"967\" height=\"557\" src=\"https:\/\/dbaonayacht.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/last-8-days.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dbaonayacht.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/last-8-days.png 967w, https:\/\/dbaonayacht.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/last-8-days-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/dbaonayacht.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/last-8-days-768x442.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 967px) 100vw, 967px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With 2 internet connections on board, <a href=\"https:\/\/dbaonayacht.com\/index.php\/2022\/05\/21\/200mb-connectivity-on-the-yacht\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"138\">Starlink<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dbaonayacht.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/09\/rocking-the-internet-on-the-yacht\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"55\">T-Mobile with the MOFI access point<\/a>, we have been pretty well covered this week. The T-Mobile service does roam into Canada at no extra charge. Note, the Starlink plan is the standard plan with portability added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some pro&#8217;s and con&#8217;s of the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Starlink<\/strong><\/td><td>Price $135 per month.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Pro<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Con<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>High speed, great connection when not moving.<\/td><td>Not allowed to use when moving, underway<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Works anywhere on the same continent as billing address.<\/td><td>Cuts in and out when on anchor if the boat is blowing around or spinning with the currents.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>T-Mobile with the MOFI router<\/strong><\/td><td>Price $50 per month<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Pro<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Con<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Medium speed. Good enough to work when the signal is strong.<\/td><td>Does not work well in remote locations or sheltered bays with no cell tower nearby<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Works well while moving, if within range of a cell tower<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For my specific needs, it is not a choice between the Starlink and a cellular based router. I need both of them.
